“Give ear to my words, O LORD; consider my sighing. Listen to my cry for help, my King and my God, for to You I pray. In the morning, O LORD, You hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before You and wait in expectation.“ (Psalm 5:1-3)
Are we “waiting in expectation,” or living with a sense of dread? Are we laying our requests before the Lord looking for His help, or have we resigned ourselves to whatever “fate” may bring to us? Jesus said in Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you.” This seems to imply at least two things: (1) that the Father is actually looking to aid us, and (2) that one is actually looking for and expecting Him to answer. Let’s learn stop living with dread, or simply accepting what “life dishes out,” and start looking for God answer us as we seek Him to fulfill His promises.
